The idea for Map Game Day came as a result of spending a muggy, Southern afternoon looking for the rest of our party at an away game. We were meeting friends from out of town who had never been onto the Ole Miss Campus. Having been on the campus before, I had given directions to a couple of common meeting places (the Grove, the Student Union building, and the Baseball Stadium). As the humidity and temperature rose, and game time loomed, we were still trying to make contact. Amazingly, when sixty to one hundred thousand people cram into a few acre spot, all wearing similiar colored shirts, findability decreases. Cell phone service on campus was spotty, and while the game was still hours away, precious tailgating time was lost.
